Why Travel in December Is Uniquely Chaotic
It delivers specific challenges in the festive season. Air travel is heavily scheduled from December 20 to January 2. Family groups carry extra luggage; spools of neon clothing and pairs of multi-pompom camping shoes are standard-issue. Flights might be delayed 30-90 minutes due to weather. The truth is that you want a taxi service that can recognize and accommodate such patterns, not just purport to be there.

One-Price Selling, Simplified: Here’s How It Worked
So here’s what many (but by no means all) taxi companies won’t tell you before you get in the car: They jack up prices on Christmas week. Others use “dynamic pricing” (which is what we call surge pricing). Others just charge more but offer no explanation.
Our rates stay fixed. And there’s no difference between the cost of a trip from Wilmslow to Manchester Airport Terminal 2 on Christmas Eve and that in February. Prices shown at the time of booking are what you pay.
But there is a reason why we are able to do this. We schedule drivers months in advance. By October, we don’t have whose shift there needs covering on the 25th. That advance planning is why we don’t have to turn to last-minute rate increases in order get drivers on the road.
What “Christmas Availability” Really Means
Every taxi service provides 24/7 service. At Christmas, that assertion is put to the test.
We operate differently. And here is our real coverage of Christmas Day:
- Terminal 1, 2 & 3 collection: Full service from 3 am onwards
- Night time flights (8pm or later): Permanent driver rotation
- Boxing Day (Dec 26): Regular service restored at midnight
- New Year’s Eve/Day: No service gaps around parties and airport runs
You’re dealing with it’s not like the Christmas week, where all our drivers aren’t taking time off entirely. It has taught us that you have to spread time off in a staggered way so the service doesn’t drop. Half of the staff works December 23-26, and the other half takes December 27 to January 2.
Flight Delays: The December Reality
As we’ve mentioned earlier, December weather impacts Manchester Airport more than any other month. Fog delays departures. De-icing extends turnaround times. Your 9 p.m. landing could easily get bumped to 10:30 p.m.

How much does a taxi cost from Airport to Lagos at Christmas?
We DO NOT DOUBLE UP THE COST OF OUR STANDARD PRICE like some other decorators do during the Christmas period. The average fare from Manchester City Centre to the airport ranges between £25-35 depending on the exact pick-up point. There is no surge pricing on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day. Can I order a taxi to pick me up at the airport on the morning of Christmas Day?
Yes, we are full service on Christmas Day from 3am. It is one of our busiest airport days because people are traveling to family or destinations for the winter holidays. For Christmas Day travel, we suggest booking a minimum of 2 weeks prior as slots become full quickly.
What if my flight is delayed and it’s not Christmas?
We monitor your flight automatically based on the flight number you supply at booking. Our 1hrs waiting time free applies to most Christmas delays. You land, you call us up to an hour later – no extra charge for waiting time if you pre-book. Drivers make adjusted time for pick ups according to actual arrival.
When should I book a Christmas airport taxi?
For travel Dec. 23-27, reserve by Dec. 10 to ensure a vehicle is available. Advance notice is required at least 1-2 weeks prior to December trips. Bookings for the new year period should be done at least until December 15. Last minute bookings are accepted but the selection of vehicle is limited for high festive seasons.
Do you offer child seats for Christmas family travel?
Yes, we do offer child seat or booster seats free of charge. Please provide the amount and age of children when booking to see if this is possible. Our MPVs fit families with more than one child as well as Christmas luggage. All seats meet UK safety standards and are inspected before every trip.
Is it possible to pay by card for my Christmas airport transfer?
Yes all major credit/debit cards are accepted also we take card in the car and over the phone if you wish to book. Payment in cash is also possible if you wish. Payment is made at the end of your journey – no advance deposits needed. You also get a media message or email receipt after every card payment that can be used for expenses claims!
