Why Our Airport Wait Time Policy Makes Sense
You’ve arranged a cab for airport pick up. But this is what keeps you awake at night – what if the flight is delayed?
We’ve been doing airport transfers from Manchester since 2018. During that time, we’ve completed more than 15,000 airport pickups. The No. 1 question we receive? “If my flight is late, will I have to pay more?”
The answer is simple: No.
We provide 1 hours’ waiting time free of charge from when your flight lands. Not from when you first arrived. Not from when you booked. As soon as the plane is really on the deck.
What “Landing Time” Actually Means (Because Nobody Explains This)
Here’s where it gets confusing. When we say “1 hours from landing,” we’re talking about wheels on tarmac.
Not when you:
- Clear immigration
- Collect your bags
- Walk to the arrivals hall
- Find the pickup point
The clock starts after the plane lands. You have two full hours to get from the airport, which is almost always enough time. This is true even at busy times in Manchester Terminal 2.

How Airport Taxi Wait Times Operate at Manchester

That’s why our timing is not a priority. One hour is the (nearly) catch-all.
What If You Need More Than 1 hour?
Fair question. It’s a rare event, but here’s the policy.
We charge at £10 per additional 30 minutes if it exceeds 1 hours. Not per minute, but per half hour. So 1 hours and 15 minutes is an additional £10. Not £5, not £15. Flat £10.
Why charge at all? Our driver’s still there. They’ve turned down other jobs. The fuel is running (especially in winter when the heating has to stay on).
But honestly? In 15,000 pickups, we might have charged the waiting fee an extra 200 times. It’s that rare.

Reality at Peak Times (What Drivers Actually See)

Yes, we do provide child seats and booster seats for a free. Just let us know when booking and we’ll send the correct vehicle. We carry car seats for babies (backward facing), toddlers, and children up to 12 years of age.
Q: Can I use my card at least or is it all cash?
We take cash, card (including business and all major debit/credit cards) and bank transfer for B2B. We can accept payment in the car (we have card machines), or you can pay online when you make a booking. Receipts provided for all journeys.
